Manitowoc Foodservice walk-ins lessen the global warming burden

November 10th, 2008

MANITOWOC, WIS – November 10, 2008 – With passage of the Federal Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 aimed at reducing energy dependence and curbing global warming, a number of new requirements have been added to the design standards of walk-in coolers and freezers.

As a leader in walk-in refrigeration, Manitowoc Foodservice took the initiative early on to develop and deliver energy efficient features and technologies for customers. Many of these features were incorporated into Harford and Kolpak walk-ins long before the mandated deadline of January 1st 2009. Section 312 of the standard details these new requirements¹.
