Kolpak's new door alarm system monitors temperature and interior light system

May 22nd, 2010

Parsons, Tenn. – May 22, 2010 – Kolpak has added a new alarm system that signals when the temperature inside the walk-in falls below or rises above a predetermined safety zone  If temperatures move beyond the safe zone, a “high” or “low” temperature condition will be indicated by a visual alarm and a pulsing buzzer. The ability to monitor and control temperatures inside of the walk-in gives operators one less food safety concern.

In addition to the temperature alert feature, an energy-saving light management system has been installed. The system automatically turns the interior lights on when the door is opened. The “auto-off” feature shuts the light off after fifteen minutes, but can be programmed to other pre-specified time limits. The newest feature, called Orchestra Mode, will flash a light to alert personnel that the light is turning off in two minutes.

The combination of a door open alert and the automatic light on/off feature solve two of biggest energy wasters – leaving lights on and accidentally leaving the door open. For more information on energy efficient Kolpak walk-ins go to: www.kolpak.com
