Code Approvals

Kolpak modular panels and components have been certified by independent testing laboratories for compliance with code requirements for flame spread, smoke development, toxicity and sanitation. Final approval may be dependent upon application and local codes. We can supply the backup data you need to get approval from most local, state and federal agencies.

Factory Mutual System logo

Factory Mutual System

The Factory Mutual report states, "...fire tests show the Kolpak minimum 26 gauge steel-faced wall and ceiling urethane insulated panels of four inch maximum thickness meet Factory Mutual Standard 4880 approval requirements." They are approved for use as insulated core wall and ceiling panels (on walls, no greater than 30 feet in height) without a need for sprinkler protection in and of themselves. The end use of the panel would determine if sprinklers are required.

Canadian Standards Association logo

Canadian Standards Association

"The Kolpak door panel assembly is listed by the Canadian Standards Association as certified." It is certified under Report Number LR67755-1. CSA construction must be requested.

Toxicity and Ignition Properties Tests

Independent testing laboratories ran both ignition and toxicity tests on Kolpak panels. Both test results were well above normal requirements. The toxicity tests also demonstrate that, "when tested as specified, Kolpak panels generated products of combustion which were no more toxic than those expected from wood."
